Terms and Conditions
These terms apply to every ticket bought through AetherPass. Buying a ticket, or claiming a free one, means you accept them. Individual events add their own rules, which are shown on the event page before you pay.
Who you are buying from
AetherPass is the ticketing platform. Each event is run by its own organiser, who is responsible for the event itself — the line-up, the venue, the running times and what happens on the day. We are responsible for the sale, the ticket and the money that moves through it. The registered selling entity and its VAT number appear on the tax invoice issued with your order.
What a ticket is
A ticket is a revocable licence to attend one event, once, in the tier you bought. Every ticket carries a QR code that is spent the first time it is scanned. Re-entry is a setting the organiser chooses per event; unless the event page says otherwise, leaving means your ticket is done. Duplicating, screenshotting or forwarding a ticket does not create a second entry — the first scan wins and everyone after it is refused.
Orders, prices and payment
Prices are shown in South African rand and include VAT, as the Consumer Protection Act requires. Any booking fee is shown on the order summary before you are sent to pay. Tickets are held for 15 minutes while you check out and are released back to the event if payment does not complete.
Payments are processed by Paystack. Card details are entered on Paystack's own page and never reach our systems. Your order is confirmed when Paystack confirms the payment, not when the form is submitted — if a payment fails, no tickets are issued and nothing is charged.
Events may cap how many tickets one person or one email address can take, and invite-only tiers are only purchasable through the private link that reveals them. Orders that get around those limits may be cancelled and refunded.
Delivery of tickets
Tickets are emailed as a PDF once payment clears, normally within a minute. Nothing needs to be printed. You are responsible for giving us an email address that works and for checking your spam folder before telling us a ticket has not arrived. Tickets can always be downloaded again from the order link in your confirmation email.
Cancellations, refunds and transfers
You may cancel a booking under section 47 of the Consumer Protection Act, subject to a cancellation fee that rises as the event approaches. If the event is cancelled or materially changed you are refunded in full. Where the organiser allows it, a ticket can be transferred to someone else from your order page. The fee tiers and the full detail are on the cancellations and refunds page, which forms part of these terms.
Conduct at the event
The organiser and the venue set the rules on the day — age restrictions, searches, prohibited items, recording and behaviour. They may refuse entry to, or remove, anyone who breaks them, and a ticket refused on those grounds is not refunded. Age-restricted events may require ID that matches the name on the ticket.
Your information
We collect what is needed to issue your ticket, admit you at the door and keep the tax record. Attendee details are removed about a year after the event ends. Marketing is optional and refusing it does not affect your purchase. The detail is in the privacy policy.
Liability
Nothing here limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, and nothing here excludes liability for gross negligence or for anything that cannot lawfully be excluded. Beyond that, our liability for an order is limited to what you paid for it. We are not the organiser and are not liable for the event itself.
Changes and contact
These terms may change. The version that applies to an order is the one published when the order was placed. These terms are governed by South African law. Questions go to support@aetherpass.co.za.
